WHY SHOULD YOU JOIN? Fellow neighbour, PEHRA relies on support from our paid-up members. If you are already a PEHRA member, thank you for your great support that keeps us going! Your membership of $10 per household per year helps us organize multiple events and projects in the community, and we are constantly striving to add new and exciting events to our calendar. Events are a fun way to get to know your neighbors, and getting to know your neighbours helps to build a caring and safe community! PEHRA volunteers also work with HRM on behalf of all residents to maintain our facilities, parks, and trails, as well as initiating new projects that continue to enhance our community. For example, our paved Portland Lakes Greenway was planned by PEHRA and developed in partnership with HRM. Similarly, the playing field and gazebo in Birches Park were PEHRA projects in partnership with HRM. If you like PEHRA’s work in our neighbourhood, please support us by joining for $10 per year. PEHRA hosted its 2024 Annual General Meeting on November 7th. This event took place at Hardisty Brewing in Cole Harbour, and was combined with a Social which included a great Community Trivia quiz and delectable Charcuterie! There was a good discussion on community issues and PEHRA's focus for 2025, and we welcomed 4 new members to the board. Thanks to all who attended and brought their ideas! We are celebrating another great year for PEHRA. Please join us for our "PEHRA Social & AGM" to share your feedback on community improvements and YOUR IDEAS for the future. June 2024: The free PEHRA movie and food truck event in Birches Park was well received by our many attendees, who enjoyed games, face painting, yummy food, and a big-screen Jumanji movie. Many thanks to the PEHRA volunteers who planned and assisted at the event. Thanks also to Councillor Becky Kent and our MLA Lorelei Nicoll for their support, and to sponsors James Langill (KW Select Realty), Global Pet Foods, Camp Bow Wow, and Treble Pub.
