Halloween House Contest Results

Thank you to all those who decorated their homes to capture the Halloween spirit in our community! Three witches and a Werewolf (Councillor Becky Kent, MLA Lorelei Nicoll, and PEHRA volunteers Dalyce Mallion and Tamer Sobeih) toured the Portland Estates and Hills neighbourhood on Oct 30th looking for spirit! Three prizes were awarded… Most Spectacular: 70 Edgewater Close Most Creative: 3 Sprucewood Court Most Original: 249 Bellbrook Crescent All winners receive a $25 Gift Card and Free PEHRA membership! A big “thank you” to Councilor Kent and MLA Nicoll for getting into the spirit and sharing some fun in our community. We look forward to them returning on December 20th to help judge our “Holiday House Contest.”

Halloween House Contest

Councillor Becky Kent and MLA Lorelei Nicoll have volunteered to be our “official community spirit judges” and run this year's fun HALLOWEEN HOUSE contest in cooperation with PEHRA. Sunday Oct 30 at 6pm - Halloween House Contest Becky and Lorelei will drive around Portland Estates and Hills and select 3 prize winners using their own criteria. PEHRA will provide 3 x $25 Gift Cards and FREE PEHRA memberships to the winners. Photos of the winning houses will be posted to Facebook. We are VERY pleased that our Councillor and MLA share their enthusiasm to participate in our community. (coming in late December, a similar Holiday House contest)

PEHRA AGM at Town Hall Meeting

PEHRA is delighted that Councillor Kent has given us the opportunity to hold a short “in person” AGM at the end of her upcoming Town Hall Meeting on Oct. 19th (6pm -8pm), Woodlawn Library. All residents are welcome. Meet your neighbours, learn about issues impacting our community, and ask questions about areas that concern you. PEHRA will have a membership table at the forum to answer any questions and accept memberships for the 2022/23 year. Only $10 per household each year helps to support the work of your residents’ association. We look forward to seeing you at the Town Hall.

Movie in the Park a Success

PEHRA's “Movie in the Park” was a great success! Beautiful evening on Oct 1st for an outdoor event! Great turnout of over 500 in Birches Park to see the free movie “Aladdin!” Pop Up Cinema also offered delicious movie snacks of popcorn, drinks, and even cheesecake on a stick! Thank you to our main sponsor Steele Mazda for making this fun evening possible! Thank you also to Tamer Sobeih and our other PEHRA volunteers for organizing the event. Looking forward to another movie under the stars next year!
